    UNICEF and Egyptian health minister discuss cooperation

    Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt’s Acting Minister of Health and Population, met with Jeremy Hopkins, UNICEF‘s representative in Egypt, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two organizations. During the meeting, plans were discussed for the next five years, starting in 2023, and the importance of addressing the mental health of children, especially those with autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

    UNICEF and Egyptian health minister discuss cooperationIn coordination with the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, the cooperation plans aim to train medical teams to treat children and educate their families. Among the topics discussed at the meeting were the restructuring of the primary health care system in Egypt to conform to UNICEF’s comprehensive health insurance system and bringing family planning and vaccination services online.
